As you can see, it was a very busy day! Of course, we were anticipating getting to the Sea of Galilee, but a day of riches spread before us. In the interest of time (it is now 11:46pm on Monday night) I am going to load photos and a quick comment or to. To hear more about it, you will have to come to the second hour on Sept. 20!
The Bahai Shrine in Haifa!
The Cable Car in Rosh Hanikra
The grottos at Rosh Hanikra which are located a stones throw (but we didn't throw any stones!) away from Lebabnon
Crusader City in Akko
15th century Synagogue and rabbi! (The Rabbi was not 15th century - he is 1st century!
This is an artist in the city of Safed. Strange story - great Godwink!! We were walking down the street and I saw a painting that I loved and was compelled to look at further (NEVER happens to me!) We went into the shop and started talking to the artist (man in photo), who is a Hassidic Jew. Wait until you see the two pieces of artwork we bought! Very cool - great eye. I was reading his bio and it said that he had spent time in Greenwich Village in the 1960's and I made a comment on understanding some of his artwork when I read that. We laughed - he said something neither Paul nor I can remember, and then Paul said, "Did you know a man named Ram Dass?" And he said, "You mean Richard Alpert? Yes, Yes. We are good friends!" Well you can imagine the conversation from there!
As if that wasn't enough of a day, we then arrived at Tiberias - on the Sea of Galilee! Amazing - went on a boat ride and dreamed of Jesus sending Peter and Andrew out to fish...Jesus walking on the water...Peter stumbling...the resurrected Jesus standing on the shore....the storm....so much in one small area! Mind boggling!
